WEAR Sustain London Launch

WEAR Sustain London Launch

In May 2017 WEAR Sustain held a launch event for the first Open Call, and also held a symposium on the theme of sustainability in wearables, smart textiles and e-textiles.

The event attracted around 50 participants and featured talks by Anne Prahl PHd, who specialises in design for sustainability; Ed Gillespie, Founder of communications agency Futerra Consultancy; Professor Martin Charter, Director of The Centre for Sustainable Design & Professor at University for the Creative Arts and Professor Sandy Black, Professor of Fashion & Textile Design & Technology, Centre for Sustainable Fashion, University of the Arts London, London College of Fashion.

This was followed by round table discussions on the themes of the Open Call, which will be used to inform the development of the WEAR Sustain Sustainability Toolkit which is being produced over the course of the WEAR Sustain project.
